Nearing the end
So far, this year is a little stressful but I believe I can get myself on track. The only class I’m really off-pace is AP Spanish Literature, whereas my other classes I’m doing fine or just have to do one or two things. One thing that was required about my senior year was doing a job shadow for my senior project. For the shadowing, I was with Merced Doria, the Director of Lindsay Unified School District Facilities. The interview and observation went well with the busy day he was having that day. I gained a lot from what he has to do as part of his job and interested me more in that career. The plans I have made for my future has been to apply to more universities to hopefully get accepted into one where I will get an electrical engineering degree. I have submitted a majority of my applications but still have some to go. The schools I have or plan to apply to are CSU Cal Poly Pomona & San Luis Obispo, Fresno, Long Beach, UC Riverside, Irvine, Berkeley, San Diego and University of Southern California. USC is the major stretch school that I’m applying to considering this is a private, top school that is very difficult to get into. What excites me most about finishing high school is the college experience, which also frightens me. Who knows the kind of roommate I will get cooped up with, how will I perform in my classes, would my professors even know or like me? It’s all a whole new environment and I’d basically all alone with just me to make sure I do my own work, go to bed at a reasonable time, and discipline myself. I think it’s a necessary experience and a milestone in my life that I will always remember as I get older and mature.
