The beginning of the end
August 15th was my last first day of high school and boy, did it go by in a blink of an eye. I’m anxious this school year as it is going to be my most stressful and busiest school year I’ll have. I’ll be nervous about wondering if I’ll even be able to pass all my remaining classes and when the moment of truth arises from having an acception/rejection letter from colleges I applied to. Although I am going to be scared for a majority of the school year, I believe in addition it’ll be one of the best years I’ll have in high school. Last year of high school, the feeling of your class ruling the school, spending maybe one more year with your friends until you never see them for years again, oh the excitement.
The Senior project was a term that was tossed around as I was in my other years in high school and what I didn’t really look forward to doing. I saw it as merely another thing stacked upon the other projects I’d have to do for my classes. Although I still do think it’s taking a lot of my time I think it’s beneficial doing it because you just grow from learning about yourself and liking yourself in order to be confident. In my first 3 years of high school, I recall the times I’d stay after school and help set up for the exit interviews. Every senior I saw walk into their presentation rooms, I just thought “Wow, that’s going to be me in a year/few years, time is going to fly by quick.” In reply, yes indeed it did.
My schedule for this year doesn’t seem too bad to me. I have AP Spanish Literature, Economics which will transition to AP Government, AVID, Psychology, English 12, Intro to Art, and AP Calculus. The only classes which I think will prove to be challenging and take up the most of my time is AP Spanish Lit. and AP Calculus as the work for it is time consuming. It doesn’t help considering the senior project will also take up a majority of my time. I’m on a wavy, unrelenting road to graduate high school and got to a 4-year university.
My goals for myself are to finish this year with a good GPA, similar to the previous year before if possible or better. Along with that, to apply to the universities that I would like to attend and go to one that is willing to accept me. My goals include me finishing my college education in four years and also get a degree in my career choice, electrical engineering, I will try my best and achieve my goals in an effort to live the good life I want to live and to make my parents, siblings and friends proud of what I accomplished thanks to their support.
