Sophomore year
High school has been fairly good for me in my opinion. The opportunity to learn and understand new concepts and ideas taught here make my experience here better than i would've assumed. The highs of being in high school is that now I'm pretty used to the schedules here and of what I'm expected to complete and behave. The lows that i can see are that there is a lot of standards to be met in a class, and when they add more programs to a course like English, it takes away time to work in the class and complete what is required. I feel that happened a lot in most of my classes. Now that's not to say that it completely ruined my sophomore year, there were some memorable moments that won't make me think of this year lightly when I look back at it again in a few years. Some of the most memorable moments i have experienced are when I had to go on an AVID trip with my AVID Classmates to visit and tour colleges and universities. We went UC Riverside and UC Irvine, we intended to go to CSU Long Beach but we ended up getting lost on the way. The overnight stay in the hotel, the ride to and from there really made it a memorable experience for me this year and most likely for the rest of my high school career. When I had to go on a trip for the FBLA club that i was in was also memorable, I competed in my subject and it was a great time for the most of us who went. Another time that was memorable for me was when i got accepted into the AP History class, it was such a good feeling when i saw my name on the chart of acceptance. Extracurricular activities that im interested in are FBLA, My Strength Club, and helping out around the neighborhood. I do plan to going to a college, more specifically a four-year university. I intend to taking as many AP classes as i can and completing level four's to make my transcript and GPA increase its appeal to universities. I see myself in some career involving mathematics, like an engineer or a mathematician. The rest of my high school years I see myself taking difficult courses and challenging myself like more AP classes. I want it to be where I challenge myself and participate more in my clubs and afterschool activities.
